Sketchdump 1

Crap ton of crap I spat out these past couple days. Say hello to a couple new characters (Nympha, Conozco, Aken, and Xia) along with some more sketches of Auran. First part is all about Nympha, the Ghost Dragon. If you can't read the long paragraph underneath her bust, it says:

Faith: Kyiercism -- Particular to Ghost Dragons only. Members of this faith believe they are servants of the goddess Kyier, meant to carry the prayers of living beasts with them into the afterlife. They wear collars with a small lamp (to find their way after death) and two slips of blank paper. Upon death, these papers will be filled with the prayers of one male and one female believer.

They're a bit like a dragon version of Noah's Ark. Except not really. Looking forward to creating more aspects of the dragons' culture for this story, so expect some art for that eventually.

Second part is a crappy first try at an outdoor library. The city Auran lives in is a weird mixture of high-tech and nature-oriented. The dragons are technologically advanced, but still prefer to be strongly connected to the natural world, so many "buildings" are open-air.

Third part is a bunch of Auran sketches; at this point I'm just trying to get into the repetitive motion of drawing him and his surroundings so that they will continue to refine and improve.

Fourth part has some quick studies of the different animals I base my dragon heads off of, with the dragon (or cat in one case) head drawn over it in pen. Horse, deer, panther, and Komodo dragon. Conozco (the one with the glasses and honestly the best picture on that page) is based on a deer head, Auran on a horse, Nympha on a panther. Aken is the cat-thing with the weird markings. I have a nice picture of him which I will be uploading at some point.

Fifth part is some perspective and scenery practice crap. I don't understand why I can apparently draw a CURVED BRIDGE in perspective better than I can design buildings.
